What STBY does

Everything your show needs.
Nothing it doesn't.

Built by a theatre professional, for theatre professionals! No unnecessary complexity — just rock-solid cue light control.

Real-time sync

WebSocket-based architecture keeps every device in perfect sync. State changes propagate in milliseconds across your entire network.

📡

QLab integration

Full OSC/UDP support. Fire standby, go, and idle cues directly from QLab network cues using standard address patterns.

★●■

Multi-group control

Assign channels to up to three colour-coded groups. Fire Group A, B, or C simultaneously with a single tap — perfect for complex productions.

Standby confirm

Talent taps READY on their screen, the master card confirms. Never wonder if your performer is actually in position again.

📱

Any device, any browser

Master and listener views work in any browser on any device. iPads, phones, laptops — if it has a browser, it works with STBY.

🔍

Auto server discovery

Mobile apps automatically scan your network to find the STBY server. No IP addresses to remember — just tap Find Server and connect.

🎛

Mac desktop app

Native app for macOS. Start the server, manage channels, monitor cue state, and export OSC reference sheets — all in one place.

🔒

PIN protected master

The master control view is PIN protected. Listener screens are open — anyone can see their cue, only your DSM can fire them.

📋

Server logging

Every cue, OSC message, and connection event is logged with timestamps. Export the full log after the show for your production records.

How STBY works

01

Start the server

Open the STBY Mac app, select your show network interface, and click Start Server. Your URL appears instantly.

02

Connect your devices

Open the URL on any iPad or device. The mobile app finds the server automatically. Master view is PIN protected.

03

Set up your channels

Name your channels to match your positions — DSR, DSL, Flys, Spot 1. Changes sync to all connected devices immediately.

04

Fire cues

Tap STBY, GO, and CLR from the master iPad or the Mac app. Pro users can fire cues directly from QLab via OSC.
