About STBY

STBY Show Control ("STBY", "we", "our") is a professional cue light system for live theatre and events. It is developed and maintained by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

STBY comprises a macOS desktop server application, a browser-based web client, and an iOS/Android mobile application. All components are designed to operate entirely within a local area network (LAN).

Data We Do Not Collect

STBY does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

• No user accounts or registration are required
• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind
• No crash reporting or error logging sent to external servers
• No advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
• No location data
• No names, email addresses, or contact information

How STBY Works

The STBY server application runs on a Mac within your venue's local network. Client devices — iPads, phones, laptops — connect directly to that server over Wi-Fi or ethernet. All communication between devices is local and never routed through the internet or any external server.

No STBY data is transmitted to us or to any third party at any point during normal operation.

Local Storage

STBY stores a small amount of configuration data locally on your devices:

• The STBY server app stores your channel configuration, group setup, and PIN locally on the host Mac
• The mobile app stores the last connected server IP address on your device using standard platform storage (AsyncStorage on iOS/Android)

This data never leaves your devices and is not accessible to us.

Purchases

STBY licences are sold through third-party platforms. Any payment or personal data collected during a purchase is governed by that platform's own privacy policy — not this one. We receive only confirmation that a valid licence has been purchased; we do not receive your payment details.

Support Contact

If you contact us for support, any information you share (such as your email address or a description of your issue) is used solely to respond to your query. We do not store it in any database or use it for marketing.

Children

STBY is a professional production tool intended for use by adults in a theatrical or events context. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way — for example, if a future version of STBY adds optional crash reporting — we will update this page and revise the effective date above. We will not introduce data collection without making it clearly optional.
